SANTA FE DE ANTIOQUIA

$ 75 Price per person
(minimum 2 people)
  • Experience a journey through time and discover the rich history of Antioquia's first capital, a city that predates Medellín by over 400 years. Once inhabited by Spaniards and Europeans, this ancient town is steeped in fascinating stories waiting to be explored.

    Immerse yourself in its breathtaking architecture that has stood the test of time, offering a glimpse into what life was like four centuries ago. From its cobbled streets to its majestic buildings, Antioquia's first capital is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a taste of Colombia's vibrant past.

On this exciting tour we’ll explore a town that stands out from the traditional Paisa towns. This prosperous Colombian town owes its wealth to gold mining, and offers a unique experience unlike any other, since its the only colonial town in the region and also, the first capital of Antioquia for a long time, before Medellín.

To get there, we’ll embark on a scenic drive through the magnificent Andean mountains, starting from the height of 4500 feet in Medellin, ascending to over 7000 feet before descending to 1200 feet. As we journey we’ll encounter varying climates as we change altitudes, adding to the adventure.

We’ll visit the historic Center, walking through its main streets, churches and plazas, enjoying typical snacks and exotic fruits as we venture through and of course, visit the famous West Bridge,  important icon of Antioquia’s prosperity, crossing the second biggest river in Colombia, the Cauca river.
